Cultivation
The rice derives its name because of its small white ovular fine grains which resemble seeds of Seeragam/Jeera/Cumin and our farmers cultivate the rice in Samba season (August to January). It takes a long time to grow compared to other rice which also becomes a reason for the rice being costly.

PREPARATION METHOD
Soak the rice in water for half an hour.
To the heated oil, add chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, and ginger paste and chilli powder.
Mix it well and add water.
Add chopped carrot, beans and potato and soaked seeraga samba rice.
After 5 minutes add lemon juice, mint and coriander leaves and ghee.
Your tasty biryani is ready.

Onion: 3 nos. Tomato: 2 nos.
Carrot: 2, Potato: 2, Beans: 10 nos
Ginger garlic paste: 2 tsp
Green chilli: 4 nos. Chilli powder: 1tsp
Lemon: 1. Salt: as per taste
Cooking oil: 5to 6 tsp
Ghee: 1tsp. Mint and coriander leaves
