Most bathroom doors will feature a thumbturn and release lock, the ideal solution to your internal bathroom door needs. You must pair thumbturn and release locks with a bathroom mortice lock. In case of emergency, you can unlock the thumbturn lock by using a coin on the outside of the door.
A rim automatic deadlatch (nightlatch) is fitted on the inside of your door, with the key locking cylinder to insert your key to open the door located on the outside of the door. You will find Deadlatches commonly referred to as Nightlatches and Yale Locks as well.
Most types of locks for doors will work on both types of door handings. These locks are labeled as “reversible handing” or “universal handing” and can be installed on either side of the door.
